Fabbrini Arte | Antiquariato Roma

Oriental antiques: China, Japan, Southeast Asia

Our “oriental art” department has been a leader in this field in Italy for about twenty years.

We treat a wide range of works such as ceramics, jades, furniture, bronzes, sculptures, corals, and paintings from the Neolithic to the Qing dynasties to the Republic period.

Our team of specialists is an effective guarantee in terms of expertise and experience.

We have been collaborating for many years with leading experts in Hong Kong and Shanghai in this difficult field where the Fabbrini Arte was among the first professional facilities to operate in Italy. We have cultivated strong relationships with leading collectors in the field, as evidenced by the number of important private collections entrusted to us for sale.

What and how we buy

We always advise our clients to have us view and verify their oriental art goods, whether buying or selling. In Italy, there has never been much attention paid to this type of goods referred to without much regard as “chinoiserie,” which is why we have a vacuum of both academic and commercial expertise in this area in Italy.

There are often major valuation errors by antiquarians and auction houses, with purchases or sales made on the wrong expertise. The consequence is that many of these transactions are cancelled and about one-third of valid Chinese art objects sold at auction are not paid for.

Please feel free to contact us
